We are an inner-city high school in Indianapolis IN. Athletics is not funded by tax payer dollars. We depend on gate and concession receipts for our financial support. Neither of these has been strong this year.
On July 1, 2015 I took over as the athletic director at Arlington Community High School. The facilities here have a lot of potential, but they had not been maintained very well. There are many needs for teams that we simply cannot afford at this time. Uniforms were scattered and in some cases non-existent. We have had a good deal of success in getting our teams uniformed due to the help of many community businesses and some of our professional sports teams in Indy. However, we have a long way to go. We have equipment needs and eventually uniforms will have to be repaired and/or replaced, not to mention the costs of officials and other ancillary monetary expenditures. If we can build our account, we can insure the success of our student-athletes and be sure that they can have facilities, uniforms and equipment needed to be proud of and successful in our athletic endeavors. Please, if you can, donate. It will be greatly appreciated. This is a great way to help our kids.
